Katherine Conaway started out as a Math major ultimately graduating with an Art History major. Post college she worked a number of jobs and unintentionally became a digital nomad in 2013. Since then she's been traveling around the world, participated in the Remote Year program, and co-authored The Digital Nomad Survival Guide available on Amazon which is packed full of practical information related to traveling while working. In this episode we talk about her experiences traveling and working, how she got started, advice for others and what lies ahead for her.

Katherine has been a "digital nomad" since June 2014, working remotely as a freelance producer, consultant & writer and as the Head of Production for Public Persona, a branding + design studio.

Since leaving NYC in June 2014, she's traveled to over 21 US cities and 25 countries (and counting). From February 2016 - January 2017, she was a member of Remote Year's second program, Battuta. She recently coauthored and published The Digital Nomad Survival Guide, available on Amazon Kindle.

She was previously a producer at HUSH, a digital design agency in Brooklyn. Before that, she taught abroad at American schools in Morocco, Switzerland, and Bulgaria. Katherine studied Art History (and rowed) at Williams College, studied abroad in Siena, Italy, and is originally from Fort Worth, Texas.

Jonathan Sharp has worked remote since 2008 in a variety of engagements from freelancer, contractor, employee, to entrepreneur. He has participated in a variety of remote teams from a handful of individuals through large 65+ person teams. He has also previously managed a fully distributed enterprise consulting agency with a team of 23. Jonathan loves the topic of remote work and the opportunities it affords.

Ari has worked in Information Technology since knowing a DOS command line and IRQs was essential. Since then, Ari has moved on to build, manage, and support complex systems and networks. Ari has worked in many different technology environments over the years; from small to large, both Windows and Macintosh.
